Great article and author. Welcome to our future if we don't pull our collective heads out of our collective posterior.

Pun intended (collective)....

No, those who lived under communism can't tell these anserine ninnies anything, because said ninny thinks that this time communism will work, because the ninny will be playing the part of Big Brother. Every last one of these deluded fools thinks that he will be Big Brother, though of course in reality he will be just another Winston Smith, a minor outer-party disposable part.

Socialist Germany and USSR developed nuclear reactors (including ones for peaceful use in power plants - said clean energy), jets, rockets, put man into space, made huge progress in medicine, the list is long. Sure, one can speculate about means of such advances but simply denying them is leftist tier.

Socialist poverty is an imperfect but effective way of making women respect beta male labor. The Soviet inner party elites were in on the joke. People don't realize that Khrushchev saying "we will bury you" was a reference to the long game, to the demographic scale, even if the shoe banging suggested immediate violence.

Capitalism and prosperity, all else constant, are preferable to socialism. But capitalism is worse than worthless if it invites what communists called "bourgeois decadence". America reached that point by the early 90's, and go figure that's when the left's old guard threw in the towel...

After America did it first, you mean. The KGB excelled at cribbing our notes.

I can see crediting the Nazis with jets and rockets, though.

I have known numerous people who lived under communism, and absolutely hated it, and said so repeatedly. They were simply ignored by the liberals.
